Nelson Named Curriculum Coordinator for West Fargo Public Schools
West Fargo, ND – (August 27, 2021) – It is with great pleasure that Mrs. Beth Slette, Superintendent, and Mrs. Heather Sand, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, announce Ms. Nicole Nelson has accepted a curriculum coordinator position with West Fargo Public Schools.
Nelson began her career in education in 2010 as an English language arts teacher at Ellendale Public Schools. From 2011 – 2014, she taught high school English language arts at Jamestown Public Schools. She taught middle school English language arts at Central Cass Public Schools for five years prior to coming to West Fargo Public Schools in 2019. Since coming to the district, Nelson has been a seventh grade English language arts teacher at Cheney Middle School.
Nelson holds a master’s degree in teaching and technology from Valley City State University and a bachelor’s degree in English education from the University of Jamestown.
“Adding Ms. Nelson’s expertise to our department allowed us to restructure our current team model and better capitalize our coordinators expertise and skillsets. She provides a student-centered perspective on classroom instruction and comes to us with experience in the Marzano Instructional Framework,” stated Mrs. Sand in selecting Nelson for the position.
Ms. Nelson began her new position this week.
