Two West Fargo Public Schools Students Selected for State's Student Cabinet
West Fargo, ND – (February 23, 2021) – Two students from West Fargo Public Schools are among 23 from across the state to be selected by North Dakota State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler for her Superintendent’s Student Cabinet. Griffin Terras, of Horace High School, and Aidan Bertsch, of West Fargo High School, will be representing the district.
In their application process, Bertsch and Terras were asked to respond to several questions, including an invitation to “describe a challenge facing students today” and “What is one thing you think your State Superintendent needs to know about your school?” The applications were reviewed and scored by a team of employee’s in the superintendent’s office.
According to a press release from the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, the Cabinet provides Superintendent Baesler with advice on how to improve the state’s schools and opinions on state education policy.
“My Student Cabinets have been an invaluable source of information and advice about what is good about our schools, and how things can be better,” Baesler said. “They have made their mark in improving education policy in North Dakota.”
Terras and Bertsch will serve for approximately 18 months and meet, on average, every three months. The group will have its first meeting in March.
