Paraprofessional Receives Scholarship to Earn Teaching Degree
WEST FARGO, ND – (January 14, 2021) – Rashid Ibrahim, a paraprofessional at West Fargo High School, has been awarded a scholarship from the West Fargo Educational Foundation (WFEF) and Minot State University through WFEF’s Program for Inclusive Education.
The scholarship is a collaborative effort between the West Fargo Educational Foundation and Minot State University with the goal to increase teacher diversity within West Fargo Public Schools by employing teachers and professional staff that are a direct reflection of our student body and our community. Minot State University has developed a flexible degree program which allows paraprofessionals the opportunity to complete their teaching degree while continuing their career as a paraprofessional with West Fargo Public Schools.
Mr. Ibrahim has been employed with West Fargo Public Schools since 2016 and is an English learner (EL) paraprofessional at West Fargo High School. He plans to study mathematics education, with an emphasis on EL education, while enrolled at Minot State University.
