WFHS Philanthropy and Youth to Host Annual Kamp KACE Volleyball Tournament
West Fargo, ND – (April 21, 2021) – The West Fargo High School Philanthropy and Youth (PaY) Committee will be hosting their annual Kamp KACE volleyball tournament at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 16 at West Fargo High School.

Sheyenne FCCLA Members Go "Beyond Measure" at State Leadership Meeting
West Fargo, ND – (April 20, 2021) – Sheyenne High School’s FCCLA chapter attended the State FCCLA Leadership Meeting in Bismarck on April 11 – 12. The theme for this year’s conference was “Beyond Measure,” and students attended workshops on the topics of community service, careers, interview skills, making conversation, organizing engaging meetings, and sustainable fashion.

Student Artwork on Display in Downtown West Fargo
West Fargo, ND – (April 19, 2021) – Artwork from student artists at West Fargo High School and Sheyenne High School are on display at downtown West Fargo businesses through the end of April. Choice Bank, Ferguson Books, Sheyenne Plaza, and Thunder Coffee each have a piece from a Sheyenne High artist and a West Fargo High artist.

West Fargo, ND – (April 12, 2021) – Students from West Fargo High School and Sheyenne High School have been selected to participate in the University of North Dakota’s Honor Band, Choir, & Strings Festival.

CTE Makes Education Relevant, but Why?
CTE of today has morphed into a vision of cutting-edge, rigorous, and relevant career and technical education programs that provide opportunities for students to explore and prepare for careers after high school. Curriculums aid students in identifying career pathways that lend to industry certifications, technical degrees, military, and college degree programs.

The Value of Community Collaboration
The longer I am in education, the more importance I place on the value of collaboration. The school cannot solve today’s problems alone and relies on community partnerships to fill gaps. West Fargo Public Schools (WFPS) has had the privilege of working with many outside entities to solve problems like poverty, childhood hunger, closing the achievement gap, mental health, and preparing today’s learners for tomorrow's world.

Return of Grade 6 - 12 Students for On-Site Instruction
West Fargo Public Schools recently adjusted the instructional model to provide four days of on-site instruction for all students in grades 6-12. Provided that our district and community continue to see a decline in COVID-19 cases, quarantines, and the positivity rate, the district will continue planning for full reentry (five days of on-site instruction for all secondary students) starting the week of February 15.

A frequent wondering is the respectful terminology to use for the original people of America. This question and its associated conversations point to the glorious fact that we can all benefit from more cultural competency and a deeper understanding of the diverse nations that account for 3% of our amazing school district.
